Dungannon Credit Union Student Bursary Scheme 2026
Terms and Conditions
Dungannon Credit Union is offering two bursaries of £1,000 each to support members progressing to university, higher or further education, or an apprenticeship in 2026.
- Eligibility
- Applicants must be a current member of Dungannon Credit Union at the closing date for applications.
- Applicants must be aged 18 years or over.
- Applicants must be commencing or continuing a recognised university, higher education, further education, or apprenticeship programme during the 2026 academic year.
- Successful applicants may be required to provide proof of acceptance, enrolment, or registration before any bursary payment is made.
- Application Requirements
- Applicants must complete the official bursary application form.
- Applicants must submit a written statement of approximately 250 words explaining how the bursary would benefit them in their further education or apprenticeship.
- Applications must be received no later than 10th September 2026.
- Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Only one application per eligible member will be accepted.
- Bursary Awards
- Two bursaries of £1,000 each will be awarded.
- The bursaries are intended to assist recipients with education-related expenses, including but not limited to tuition fees, books, equipment, travel, accommodation, and other study costs.
- Selection Process
- All eligible applications will be reviewed by a Bursary Committee appointed by Dungannon Credit Union.
- The Bursary Committee will assess applications based on the quality of the submission, educational aspirations, and the potential benefit the bursary will provide to the applicant's educational journey.
- The Committee's deliberations and scoring process shall remain confidential.
- Notification of Winners
- Successful applicants will be notified on 15th September 2026.
- Dungannon Credit Union reserves the right to verify the information contained within any application before confirming an award.
- Payment of Bursaries
- Each bursary award is valued at £1,000.
- Bursary payments will be made directly into the recipient's Dungannon Credit Union account.
- The bursary will be paid in two instalments of £500:
- £500 at the end of Semester 1
- £500 at the end of Semester 2
- Recipients may be required to provide evidence of continued attendance, enrolment, or participation in their course or apprenticeship before the second instalment is released.
- If a recipient withdraws from, defers, or ceases participation in their course or apprenticeship before completion of the academic year, Dungannon Credit Union reserves the right to withhold any outstanding bursary payments.
- Decision of the Bursary Committee
- The decision of the Bursary Committee is final.
- No correspondence will be entered into regarding the selection process or the outcome of applications.
- There is no right of appeal, and Dungannon Credit Union will not reconsider decisions once they have been made.
- Publicity
- By accepting a bursary, recipients agree to participate in reasonable publicity activities associated with the scheme.
- Dungannon Credit Union may publish the recipient's name, photograph, and details of their course or apprenticeship for promotional purposes.
- Data Protection
- Personal information collected as part of the application process will be used solely for administering the bursary scheme and will be processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.
- Information will not be shared with third parties except where required by law or for the purposes of administering the scheme.
- General Conditions
- Dungannon Credit Union reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions or withdraw the bursary scheme at any time should circumstances require.
- Submission of an application constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
- In the event of any dispute concerning the bursary scheme, the decision of Dungannon Credit Union shall be final.
